St. Joseph’s College of Commerce, formerly was a part of St. Joseph’s College which was established in the year 1882 as an educational initiative by the French Foreign Mission Fathers for the purpose of imparting higher education. In 1937, the management of the college was handed over to the Jesuits, a worldwide Catholic religious order with a special focus on education. The Jesuits also run other premier institutions in India, like Loyola College Chennai, St. Xavier’s College Calcutta and St. Xavier’s College Mumbai. The Department of Commerce was established in the parent college in 1949. In 1972, this department became an independent college under the name of St. Joseph’s College of Commerce. It is recognized under Section 2(f) and 12B of the UGC Act. It became an autonomous institution in October 2004. St. Joseph’s College of Commerce was recognized as a “College with Potential for Excellence” in February 2010 by UGC.

The college aims at a holistic and integral formation of its students, fostering in them a spirit of academic excellence, social concern and character formation, shaping them to become “men and women” for others.

The motto of the College is ‘Fide et Labore’ (‘Faith and Toil’), which serves as an inspiration behind the vision and the educational praxis of the college.

From the beginning, the College has striven to be a state of the art institution for commerce education. The thrust has been on the pursuit of multidimensional educational excellence. Currently it enjoys an ‘A’ grade with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college has been responsive to the significant changes and developments in the field of higher education, as well as in the domain of commerce and business.

St. Joseph College of Commerce BBA Admission Procedure 2022

Step 1:
A Written Test will be held on Monday, 18th April 2022 at 10 a.m. The test will be based on Basic Mathematics, English Language, Logical Reasoning and General Knowledge.

Step 2:
The test will be conducted at St. Josephs College of Commerce, 163 Brigade Road, Bangalore – 560 025. Candidates are required to be in the college campus by 9.00 a.m.

Step 3:
Candidates who have applied online are expected to produce their Admit Card for the Written Test which can be downloaded from our college website on Saturday 16th April 2022 post 4 p.m.

Step 4:
After the written test, application numbers of shortlisted candidates for the Group Discussion will be displayed on the college website and the college notice board on Monday 18th April 2022 at 6.30 PM

Step 5:
The Group Discussion will be held in the college campus on Tuesday, 19th April 2022 at 09:30a.m.

Step 6:
Candidates are expected to produce their Admit Card for the Group Discussion as well.

Step 7:
After the Group Discussion, application numbers of shortlisted candidates for the Interview will be displayed on the college website and the college notice board on Tuesday, 19th April 2022 by 6.00 p.m.

Step 8:
Provisionally selected students will be called for the interview on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st April 2022.

– Attested copy of the II PUC Marks Card.
– Caste Certificate (If applicable).
– Letter from the Parish Priest (In the case of Roman Catholic students).

Once the final interview is over, the selected candidates should pay their fees within 24 hours. The fee structure will be displayed on the college notice board at the time of admission. Fees once paid will not be refunded or transferred to another student once the course commences. The decision of the Admission Committee, St. Josephs College of Commerce, Bangalore, will be final and binding in all matters concerning admission.
