45% of the total intake at CMRIT is reserved for students participating in the Karnataka UGCET entrance exam.
Only Karnataka state students are eligible to participate in the UGCET entrance exam held every year.
Students who take the Karnataka UGCET entrance exam must participate in the counseling process and choose CMRIT as a college option for seat allotment.
The cut-off rank for CMRIT is high, and all seats are filled by students with good ranks in the entrance exams.

Since the CMRIT cut-off rank in entrance exams is very high, and most students fail to secure a good rank in the COMEDK or Karnataka CET entrance exams, CMRIT offers management quota seats for direct admission.
25% of the total intake in entrance exams is reserved under management quota seats.
Students do not need a good rank to apply under management quota; they only need to appear in any of the entrance exams.
Seat allotment under management quota is done on a first-come, first-served basis.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to UG Courses at CMRIT
The eligibility criteria for admission to CMRIT are as follows:
Students must have completed class 12th through classroom-based, regular mode only.
Students must have secured at least 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics, and have studied Chemistry or Biotechnology in class 12th.
Students must have studied English as a compulsory subject in class 12th.
Students who fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria are allowed admission to CMRIT.
CUT-OFF Ranks:
Once the entrance exam results for COMEDK and Karnataka CET are announced, all students are allocated a rank based on their performance in the exams.
Students can check the previous year’s cut-off ranks to learn about the availability of engineering seats at respective colleges based on their obtained ranks.
