  • Minimum 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) — General Category
  • Minimum 40% in PCM — SC/ST/OBC Category-1 Karnataka residents
  • Must have studied PCM as core subjects; Biology optional stream students need PCM aggregate

  • Valid NATA score (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) — mandatory
  • Alternatively: valid JEE Paper-2 (B.Arch) score accepted

MBA Programme

  • Any Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% aggregate
  • SC/ST/Category-1 Karnataka: minimum 45% aggregate
  • Valid CAT / MAT / KMAT / PGCET score preferred (management quota may waive this)

M.Tech Programme

  • B.E./B.Tech in relevant engineering discipline with minimum 55% aggregate
  • Valid GATE score required for government merit seats; management quota may proceed without GATE

MCA Programme

Various dates 2026

Exam Pattern — COMEDK UGET 2026

  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  • Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (60 questions each = 180 total)
  • Marking: +1 for correct; no negative marking
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Good Score for MSRIT CSE: 140+ out of 180 (rank within ~1,500)

Exam Pattern — KCET 2026

  • Mode: OMR-based offline exam
  • Subjects: Physics (60), Chemistry (60), Mathematics (60) on separate days
  • Marking: +1 correct; no negative marking
  • MSRIT CSE Required Score: Rank within ~1,000–1,200 (General category)

Tip: Candidates should appear for both KCET and COMEDK. KCET is cheaper (government fee seats) but tighter for MSRIT. COMEDK opens private merit seats. Either score also supports management quota applications and may reduce the development fee. MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology Management Quota 2026

Management Quota Development Fee (One-Time Donation)

This is not published officially. It varies by branch demand, application timing, and the student’s academic profile. Key facts:

  • Not fixed: CSE/AIML attract a significantly higher development fee than Civil or EEE
  • Timing matters: April–May applicants face more moderate amounts than August applicants
  • Academic profile matters: Strong board marks and COMEDK rank lower the fee ask
  • Legally receipted: Must be paid via official channels and fully receipted

Under the Karnataka Private Educational Institutions Act 2006, MSRIT may fill up to 30% of total seats through management quota — directly, outside KEA and COMEDK counselling. For 2026-27, MSRIT has officially announced that admissions under Management, NRI, PIO, and Foreign National quotas are open. MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology Management Quota 2026

NRI / PIO / Foreign National Quota

A sub-set of management quota (approx. 5–15% of total intake) is reserved for NRI, PIO (Person of Indian Origin), and Foreign National candidates. Key differences from domestic management quota: MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology Management Quota 2026

  • Eligibility: Indian national / OCI card holder with NRI parent or guardian; FN candidates with valid student visa
  • Fee currency: USD component for tuition + one-time development fee (amounts in USD, paid via SWIFT remittance)
  • Additional documents: Sponsor’s overseas passport, employment proof, OCI/PIO card, AIU equivalency (if studying under foreign board)
  • Academic eligibility: Same as domestic management quota (45% PCM)
  • Contact directly: Separate NRI quota enquiries handled by MSRIT admissions office

Admission Process 2026 — All Routes

  1. Appear for KCET 2026 (April 23–24, 2026). Register at kea.kar.nic.in.
  2. KCET Results — Rank allotted based on PCM marks + qualifying exam score
  3. KEA Online Counselling Registration — Fill choice form; lock branch preferences
  4. Seat Allotment Rounds — 3 counselling rounds (July–September 2026)
  5. Report to MSRIT with allotment letter and original documents within deadline

  1. Register and appear for COMEDK UGET 2026 (May 9, 2026) at comedk.org
  2. COMEDK Results — Score and rank released (May-June 2026)
  3. COMEDK Counselling — Online choice filling; 3 allotment rounds
  4. Seat Allotment — Receive allotment letter; pay seat acceptance fee
  5. Join MSRIT with original documents on stipulated date

  1. Direct Inquiry (April–May 2026): Email admn@msrit.edu or call 080-23607902. Ask about seat availability in your target branch. Do this before any third-party contact.
  2. Profile Submission: Share Class X, XII mark sheets and any entrance score. College confirms eligibility and communicates the applicable fee structure.
  3. Document Preparation: Compile all documents before first contact — seat offers are time-sensitive with 48–72 hour windows.
  4. Official Offer Letter: Receive written provisional offer from MSRIT specifying branch, seat, and complete fee details. No payment before this letter.
  5. Development Fee Payment: Via Demand Draft (“MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore”) or MSRIT BillDesk portal. Collect official stamped receipt immediately.
  6. Annual Tuition Payment: Pay first-year tuition via official MSRIT portal. Retain all receipts.
  7. Physical Verification & Joining: Report to campus with original documents. Complete biometric registration, collect student ID and admission confirmation letter.

Never: Pay cash without a receipt. Pay anyone claiming to “block” a seat without an official offer letter from MSRIT. No external agent guarantees or controls MSRIT management quota seats — the college alone issues seats. MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology Management Quota 2026

Pros & Cons of Management Quota at MSRIT

Advantages

  • Access to Karnataka’s #1 ranked private engineering college without top entrance rank
  • Fully legal under Karnataka law — NAAC A++ institution with regulated process
  • Identical degree, transcript, and placement access as merit quota students
  • MSRIT’s 300+ campus recruiters available to all students equally
  • Strong CSE/AIML ROI — management quota cost recovered within 2–3 years of employment
  • Education loans available from nationalised banks (SBI, BOI, Canara)
  • NRI quota available for overseas Indian families

Disadvantages

  • Significantly higher total cost vs KCET government merit seats (3x–5x more)
  • Development fee is non-refundable and can be substantial for CSE/AIML
  • High risk of fraud from unverified agents — constant vigilance required
  • CSE/AIML seats fill by May–June; late movers face poor selection
  • Tight ROI for Civil, Mechanical — evaluate carefully before committing
  • Financial strain without advance loan planning for middle-income families
